Re: Zionist vs Zio
The mod team was recently notified that "Zio" is an anti semitic slur used to denigrate people of the Jewish faith. This is in contrast to "Zionist" which describes someone who may or may not be Jewish, who believes in Israeli nationalism at the expense of Palestinian people's existence.
Christian Zionists believe in the fulfillment of Biblical prophecies.
We will be removing uses of "Zio" as an explicitly hateful term. Please report any that have slipped thru. "Zionist" is fine to use as the neutral term to describe someone who voluntarily ascribes to Zionist ideology regardless of background.
🍉 The struggle didn't stop because the media coverage did. Free Palestine.
