Finished 7 days of dry fast. Sharing non-scale victories

I just finished 7 days of dry fasting, I was updating my progress on another thread here

But I wanted to share some non scale victories for anyone who wants to try this out. I wasn’t looking to lose weight so I didn’t check the scale before or after so pls don’t ask me about that.

  1. The amount of peace I felt was incredible. I say this as someone who as struggled with anxiety all my life, to a point that I have taken medication and even then struggled. This was the first time I felt at so much peace.
  2. I’ve learnt to be alone. Idk if this is related in anyway but because I was fasting I couldn’t go out much and honestly didn’t want to field any “why are you fasting” questions so I just ended up most of my time at home and I became very comfortable in my company. This is really huge for me because my mental health always made my feel unsafe in my own company to a point that I’ve had panic attacks that I’m not going to be okay if I’m by myself. That has gone down.
  3. You gain a lot of control over your emotions. I’m still in my refe

eding journey

  1. and am water faster now before I eat something and break my fast but I see hunger as just a mere feeling that comes and goes as opposed to the debilitating urge to eat and eat (which I used to look at it before this fast!)

So if you’re in two minds abt it, please try 72 hours, I honestly don’t know anything abojt weight loss but if you struggle with mental health issues this is the best gift!
