It’s hard to leave the Tesla family. Traded in my 2021 MYLR AWD w/ 120,896 miles. I ordered my MYP on 6/13 and was assigned a VIN on 6/16. Took delivery last Friday, 6/26, and got it back from the PPF shop yesterday on 7/1. Did a full body PPF, tints, and ceramic coating. Waiting for my Unplugged Performance UP RW wheels to arrive now.
Ordered a Model Y Performance Saturday night and was assigned a VIN this afternoon. Was shocked how quick it was. I’ll be trading in my 2021 Dual Motor AWD so this will be a huge upgrade. I’m at 119k miles. Located in Las Vegas, NV. VIN indicates it's an Austin, TX build.
I’m ordering a performance model soon and was wondering what everyone’s thoughts on colors are. I’m leaning towards white on white because it’ll make the gloss black/carbon accents pop. Appreciate the feedback.
What colors did you guys choose for your Juniper MYP? Can you share pictures too if possible? Debating between the Pearl White Multicoat, Stealth Gray, or the Frost Blue Metallic. I’ll be putting gloss PPF over it. Just worried that the PPF will show dirt lines over the edges of the PPF. Also, I feel like the PPF on white will show stains over time but the white is such a timeless color.
Do the Tesla batteries degrade faster than other car brands? I was on forums on the Mustang Mach-E, Rivian, and Chevy Bolt. Owners of those brands report 1-5% degradation after several years, yet us Tesla owners report 10% after year 1 and 15-20% after several years. Curious to hear what everyone’s thoughts are. I know that Rivian models come with a bigger battery pack so after several years, those vehicles will still have more usable battery.
Can anybody recommend a few credit unions for financing for the Performance? Tesla’s APR is too high. Also, how would I handle a trade in if financing with an outside lender?
Can the MYP potentially have more range than the Premium AWD? The MYP has the new battery pack (82 kWh usable) and is rated at 306 miles of range vs the Premium AWD’s 327 (75-77 kWh usable). If I were to swap the 21” wheels and downsize to 19” wheels to pair with the Hankook ION EVO AS SUV tires, would I be able to achieve 330 - 340 miles of range?
