Should I wait?

Should I wait?

I ordered the premium earlier this month. Estimated delivery is August 25-Sept 22. We really need a 2nd car by the end of this month. The Performance is available right now...but it is a demo model with ~3200 miles on it and comes with a discount of $1640.

Originally I was going to get the performance model...but went with Premium for the 0.99% financing. I will be fine with either model...but hesitant on taking a demo. Has anyone had any issues taking delivery on a demo?

2 weeks in and loving it! Any tint % recommendations

First EV and we couldn’t be happier. I come from a world of BMW E36/46/90 M3s in manual transmission, + a Hybrid Sienna minivan for daily life with toddlers. The MYP has converted me, and any future vehicle purchase will be EV.
I will be tinting it this weekend, planning to go 15-20% in the front, and hoping to try and match the rear as close as possible. Any recommendations on percentages to go with?
Thanks for input.

Door Sill cover/protector recommendations for 2026 model Y premium

I really don’t like the carpet in the back seat area and have been looking around online but wanted to ask first hand if anyone has purchased them before and how do they like them? Thanks 😊

Finally!

Finally got a delivery date! Question for anyone who’s experienced this. I’m trading in my ‘23 Corolla. Tesla offered me 15.8k. I placed my order on the 2nd of Aug. Did my trade in process in the app on the 8th of Aug. There was a bit of a delay with my vehicle & knowing when I go to turn it in I will be over the 1000 mi limit or also when I pick it up on the 9th of Sept I will be over the 30 day window of the trade in offer. How much less did Tesla give you when you had to submit another trade in offer? Thanks!

Adding some color to standard wheel covers

After getting my Model Y standard, the wheel covers felt like a missed opportunity, especially with it already having geometry but was barely visible.

So I decided to add some contrast to make it pop better, turned out quite nice in my opinion. Now I'm thinking it would be cool if Tesla gave similar color matching wheel covers from the factory.

Picked up my first Tesla and I’m loving it

Placed the order on July 20th and picked it up August 17th in Totowa, New Jersey. Been loving everything about it, especially the self driving 🙌🏼 by the way, if you want a bow in your car you have to ask otherwise they won’t put it on.

Home Charging

Picking up my new Y tonight, very excited. For those of you with Telsa's my question is simple, do you charge it every night regardless of how much you drive or just charge it overnight when it gets low? My normal day to/from work and maybe putting around I'd probably put on 60 miles a day during the week. Should I just plug it in every couple days or so when it gets down closer to 20%?

Auto Summons

Realistically how frequently are yall using this feature? I tried it on the demo drive and pick up my car Saturday. I don’t see this being something I use a lot unless it raining.

Home Charging for a new owner that works fully Remote

Hey everyone! I’m set to pick up my Tesla MY Premium RWD on September 14 and had a few questions about charging.

I work from home, so I don’t do a ton of daily driving. Most of my driving is just running to the grocery store, going to the park, etc. I tend to drive much more on the weekends, sometimes around 200–300 miles over the course of the weekend.

For those in a similar situation, how often do you typically charge? Do you plug in every day, or just when you get down to a certain percentage?

I’m thinking the Tesla Mobile Connector should be enough for me for now since I don’t have a daily commute. Does that sound reasonable, or would you recommend installing a home charger anyway?

Would love to hear what everyone else does!

Say hello to Ruby

Picked her up last week, and the experience has been magical so far. 9c/kw charging at work doesn’t hurt either.

Love in central Massachusetts. Buying a Y, should I get RWD or AWD?

My commute is about 40 minutes. Would it be better to just get a AWD or get RWD and get snow tires?

Tesla Model YL Golf Clubs

It was a struggle getting 4 guys and their clubs in the Model Y.
The YL is a few inches longer of cargo space with 3 rd row down and makes a huge difference. Can easily fit 3 bags across and only need to take the drivers out. Model Y had to take anything longer than a 5 iron out.
(Did this test with the front in middle seats in a comfortable position, not all the way up).

After weeks of agonizing between the MYP & R2 and multiple test drives. I canceled my R2 reservation and pulled the trigger!

Still in shock. Can't believe it's real. First time EV owner. As much as I LOVED the Rivian's interior and the fact that it felt like a real SUV. FSD was ultimately the differentiator not to mention the financing rate. The improvements to the suspension and ride quality have come leaps and bounds. Especially in the performance, don't have to worry about the wife driving, ever! How am I supposed/ expected to function these next few weeks!?! How did anyone on here do it?!
