Why do some people think I’m driving with my high beams on?

Today, I was stopped at a red light when an oncoming driver flashed their high beams at me. I assumed they thought my high beams were on, so I flashed my actual high beams once to show them that they weren’t on before. Instead, they gave me the middle finger.

Telsa model Y - 2026

Can anyone provide information on the estimated delivery time ( can i expect prior to this date range) and the subsequent steps? I got vin assigned. I’ve noticed that the insurance option is disabled, as indicated by the message stating that I can only take insurance once the delivery date is assigned. What will be the next steps?

Still don’t understand the long road trip calculations

I’ve taken many long trips in my MYLR (12+ hours) and have never found a way to optimize trip times by either following near the speed limit or speeding my way through and catching whatever charge station pops up.

Anyway, I really need it to stop telling me I have enough energy to continue my trip (12%) and then 4 miles down the road be at 8% ultimately forcing me to use a different charge station for the next stop and it being a 30 minute detour (15 min each way) to north Manhattan Kansas.

Just needed to vent. Amazing daily driver but damn I hate this car for long trips.

Frunky Food

How many people have placed their take home food in the frunk so it doesn’t stink up the car and then forget that the food is in there?

Do you think Tesla would create a “food in the frunk” button that’s programmed to notify you the next time you park?

EDIT: changed trunk to frunk, damn autocorrect.

Price Check on my Juniper Y?

This is *not* an advertisement or for sale post, but I’m curious what you guys think I could sell my car for privately?

It’s a 2026 Model Y Premium RWD. Has lifetime FSD.
13K miles.
I upgraded the screen to the new QHD screen, and recently installed a set of the Helix Dark 2.0’s with new Hankook Ion Evo tires.

Is $45k unreasonable given the FSD?

Help with Financial Decision

Hi Everyone, I wanted to ask the community here for some advice on getting a Tesla. I’ve been looking at a Tesla for sometime now. I’m sorta stuck between Premium and Performance Diamond Black Model Y. Originally I wanted the premium because the price difference between both didn’t make sense. I now started looking into the performance and I really enjoyed the way it looks however I wanna make sure that I make the best financial decision. Obviously if I was able to pay cash, I would, but I’m seeing online that leasing and financing is better but I also don’t wanna get stuck with a large monthly payment. I did that with my last car which was a 2021 Jeep Wrangler unlimited. The older I got, the more I realized that it didn’t make sense to get stuck with a large payment etc etc

Anyways, thought I’d ask for some life and car advice on here.

Thanks everyone!

My friend told me not to get a 2026 RAV4 PHEV because the 2026 Tesla Model Y has fewer moving parts and is more reliable. Is he right?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to buy a new family car, and the RAV4 PHEV is currently my first choice because Toyota has such a strong reputation for reliability.

However, multiple people I know who own EVs keep telling me not to get the RAV4. They say the 2026 Tesla Model Y is actually more reliable because it has far fewer moving parts, needs less maintenance, and has less that can break.

This will be our family’s only car, so reliability is by far my biggest priority.

I drive about 100 km every day, do 3–5 road trips each year, and I have home charging and solar, so owning an EV would be easy.

I’m curious what RAV4 owners think about this. Is there any truth to the claim that a Model Y is likely to be more reliable over the long term simply because it’s an EV? Or would you still choose the RAV4 PHEV if reliability is the number one concern?

I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have owned a RAV4 PHEV, a Tesla, or both.

California EV Rebate - Worth it to cancel or delay Model Y order?

California just passed the state budget which has an EV rebate. I currently have an order for a Premium @ $50,990 (after loyalty & healthcare discount). Willing to downgrade the wheels from Helix to Crossflow so it's under $50K since wheels are easy to customize down the road.

  1. It's only for "First time EV buyers", I'm currently leasing an EV. It is unclear if I am already disqualified.
  2. Tesla has to Opt-in to the program. Since they essentially have to fund half of the rebate.

Anybody in a similar situation? What are your thoughts?

At-Home L2 Charging Not Working

I’ve got a L2 charger at home and use a j1772 adapter to charge my Tesla Y nightly. Have been doing so without issue for 18 months.

Now, when I plug in the at-home charger (with adapter) into my Tesla, nothing happens. No charging. No lights. The at-home charger doesn’t turn on the charging light it has. Nothing.

Could this just be an adapter issue? Could it be something bigger?

I’m going to go to other L2 and Tesla Chargers today to troubleshoot. Anyone have better advice?

Thanks in advance.

Update: I used my Tesla L1 charger (plugged into an electrical outlet) and it charges as it should. So the issue is with my L2 charger (it is a decade old) or with the adapter all of a sudden. I have a new adapter coming Tuesday. If that doesn’t fix the issue, sounds like it is my wall L2 charger. This sound about right?

Entry model AWD vs. Premium AWD

Hi! I just ordered the base/entry level model, because the premium features didn’t seem worth it (to me personally). I do like the roof and the bar lights in the front, though. For the 10k+ greater price tag, is it worth it do you think? Struggling to make a decision!

Cabin overheat protection

Hi, new to Tesla and to the community. I recently got a MY AWD premium 2026, and I m trying to wrap my head on how to enable the cabin overheat protection. What I mean, even with the cabin overheat protection on and the interior temperature well above the threshold it never gets triggered. The only time I saw it triggered was the very first day I purchased, and switched it off. After which I never got it to work. I want to avoid visiting the service center if this is something I'm missing

Fsd is great but where is simple lane centering for free?

I tried fsd and i like it so much i ordered MY. but after going on couple of more test drive and especially on highways, fsd is not that great experience and i am realizing i dont want to pay $100 minimum every month for this and elon saying subscription cost will go up in the future is really making me second guess my order.

For me on long highways, i just want to set a speed and lane centering. There is no way to do this on tesla even if i pay for fsd which i dont want to do on highway. I know everyone will probably say that if u dont want fsd dont get tesla and something else but im just sad that just the basic cruise control lane centering is not available at all and everyone seems to be fine w unhappy ppl that want tesla without monthly subscription that can change prices anytime.

Any regret?

Lease on my BMW iX is expiring. Had a 2023 Tesla Model Y before that but was not satisfied with the suspension, cabin noise, and general quality. Considering returning to Tesla if there have been improvements. For those who have purchased/leased the newer model Y’s in 2026, anyone regretting it?

So this happened...

Any ideas on cost to replace and does it need a full bumper replacement. I looked into sentry and could not find how/when this happened (seriously)

Question about Google Pixel phones and the Tesla App

I currently have a Google Pixel 6, it's dated but it works. I just finished my t st drive, my phone would not work at all, it didn't recognize I had a test drive. I had to log in on my wife's I phone. Does anyone here have a Pixel phone and use the app successfully? I'd like to stay with Google , I'll probably upgrade to an 8.
