What if he wasn't raised well?

So we all know,Mahendra goes to Mahishmati,saves Devasena,and avenges his father Amarendra

But all of that happened because,even though not by his own family,he was raised by good people around him,and especially a good mother

But what if that was not the case? What if he was raised by people with sick mentalities? What if he was raised by a tribe of cannibals,killers or goons?
