Hello! My partner and I are going to be in Telluride next week and while most of the hikes are walkable from where we’re staying, Hope Lake looks utterly gorgeous.
We rented an AWD car, but I definitely do not want to be one of those red-plated cars stuck on the side of a rough road. How tough is the drive up to the trail head?
Is the drive worth it or should we just stick to the hikes we can get to by foot?
We found out that a friend’s cat that we had gone and checked on a handful of times (while the owners were on vacation) last week has fleas. Once we were told this, we immediately gave our two cats a round of Frontline Plus, despite brushing them through with a flea comb and not finding anything.
Well, obviously, one of the little buggers must have hitched a ride home because two days later we found a dead flea on one cats chin. Panicking, we brushed through them both again, found no dirt, no other fleas. We then proceeded to vacuum our house top to bottom, applied wondercide to most fabric surfaces (rugs, couches, beneath rugs and under cushions), washed all of our blankets, laundry, and slipcovers on our couch.
We have continued to vacuum our whole house every day, and have continued to brush through the cats every day. It’s been about four days with nothing. Then, this morning, I found a very small (looked young) flea on my cat again. It was slow enough that I caught it in the flea comb. More brushing did not produce any additional fleas or dirt.
Am I doing enough? I am in full blown freak out mode right now, as we live in a half carpeted apartment and I really don’t want to be faced with the wrath of our landlord if we have an infestation.
