Biggest pros and cons of carbon markets and accounting?
I'm interested in what people in this sub think are the greatest specific risks and harms of carbon markets and accounting, and in what folks see as the biggest possible upsides. I'm also interested in specific mechanisms by which these systems are gamed, and ways in which these systems could (at least in principle) reduce warming in the coming decades.
Anything I (and others on this sub) should know about, or personal pet peeves about these systems, or overlooked benefits, or fundamental flaws are all welcome.
