Black Tie Family Wedding + Cocktail Dinner at Mansion on Long Island
I have a black tie preferred family wedding this weekend out on Long Island at a mansion. It's a six-figure type wedding, most of the people going are $$-$$$ and work in tech/finance/expensive fields and I...do not. I am the weird cousin who lives in an art loft in the city and works at nonprofits.
TL;DR is the Monet dress not good enough for black tie? is it too formal for cocktail? Is the Safie dress too much with my body type/does it look like I'm trying too hard?
I bought the Monet dress a while ago to wear, but I worry it is too informal, especially as the wedding is meant to be outside but it'll likely rain this weekend and so will be inside. I panicked and went shopping with my parents and we got the Safie dress from retrofete but between the cost + last minute hemming it's a LOT more than I wanted to pay, even if I resell it. I also worry it is too light colored/my back looks flabby/overall is too 'much' in terms of me being very curvy.
I also got added to the rehearsal dinner last minute, which is cocktail, and I feel like as a gown the Monet dress is too formal for that, but am struggling to figure out something else to wear because I waited so long.
