Hello! What are your favorite off-the-path summery destinations in Europe with dog?

We will be in Rome for the summer (helping family) and I want to get away for a week... It's last minute, peak season, and needs to be budget+dog-friendly.

My husband's ideas were Greece, Portugal, or Croatia.

Um, sir, you nuts?

Booked out, crowded and expensive. My ideas were more Eastern Europe... Romania, Hungary, Poland. Or we have friends/family in Sweden and Berlin.

Any specific unique odd places/experiences/attractions? Any events or festivals to hinge a trip around?

For example, I'm obsessed with the idea of Salina Turda in Romania - underground salt mine turned amusement park?! Top of my list-- not top of my husbands, dang it. I like odd-ball stuff, creative craft classes, bath houses, wine, folklore, history...

We just moved back to the bay and are getting ready for our annual trip to see my partners parents. I found a new vet, did the normal checkup, have the follow up appt booked, but just saw international pet paperwork is "STARTING at $650" ?! TF. Even in Malibu with a fancy pet consultant it cost $200 max. This will be our dog's 8th trip so we're familiar with the process and what's needed. I'm shocked and flights are in 3 weeks... a little panicked if you can't tell.

Now URGENTLY seeking trusted a SF, Pacifica or East Bay vet who handles international travel and doesn't cost more than $200 and has availability...

Looking for a fun theme for our little group of non-runners. Ideally something with a prop or participatory element but easy to slap together.

I’m pushing for clowns but no one likes that idea haha…
