I've been working on my indie game for a while now, and hitting 10,000 wishlists on Steam felt like this huge milestone I'd been chasing forever.

Well, I finally crossed 10K... and before I even had time to make a celebration post, a TikTok post (one of my tries to get 10k) blew up and shot me straight past 11K.

So yeah !! Happy 11K, I guess? 🎉

Happy to answer any questions about the wishlist journey or what worked (and what didn't).

Do my game Infinitory can be considered a City-building game if it’s a Roguelite where you lose your factory every run?

I’m devloging a game that’s basically a mix of Automation and Tower Defense (think Against the Storm meets They Are Billions and Factorio/Satisfactory).

The core gameplay is about building a complex 3D factory to survive, but since it’s a Roguelite, you start over on a new map every time. I’m often market it as a "City Builder" tag, but not really sure it fit.

Pros:

  • You spend 90% of the time building, managing 3D layouts, and resource chains.
  • It has that "management" itch found in survival city builders.

Cons:

  • It's not "permanent." Once the run is over, the factory is gone.
  • The focus is more on survival/defense than aesthetics.

Does the "City Builder" tag feel like a stretch here, or is "Survival/Automation" a better fit?

Quick clip from a stress test of my new horde system in Infinitory.

Currently handling ~17,000 enemies at around 70 FPS. Still early, many improvement that still can be done, but pretty happy with how it’s holding up so far.

Recent advancements in our horde-control technology include:

  • Legacy pathfinding protocols (A* Pro) have been deprecated; unsuitable for large-scale swarm scenarios due to per-entity computational load
  • Implementation of a density / pressure / velocity-based system: horde behavior now approximates fluid dynamics
  • Deployment of an adaptive simulation tick system decoupled from render framerate
  • In high CPU load scenarios, operations enter controlled “bullet time”: simulation slows, but visual systems (camera, UI) remain stable and responsive

Efficiency has improved. Scalability is no longer theoretical.

I’m looking for someone experienced in creating short-form content (TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram, etc.) to help boost visibility and community interest.

Looking for someone who knows how to hook viewers, edit gameplay into engaging clips, and understands what performs well.

I can handle audio separately, so the focus is on editing and visual storytelling.

If you’ve done similar work, drop your portfolio or DM me.
Thanks !

You know what was missing? Consequences.

Now every building needs energy. And you need to produce more than you consume !

And if you go over budget?

💀 Power Grid Failure 💀

Everything stops, but the horde doesn't.

Working on Infinitory, a top-down city-builder automation game mixed with tower-defense and rogue-lite elements.

After finishing the Meadow biome, I went back and reworked the Sandy Desert to better match the new visual direction. (I also put screenshots from the old version and meadows o see the difference)

Still early in development, so I’d really love some honest feedback. The goal of this biome is to offer open terrain that’s easy to build a factory on and easy to defend, with clear enemy paths and not too many obstacles getting in the way of construction.
Does it feel cohesive? Does the biome read well? Anything that feels off or could be pushed further?

DLSS 5 kinda hurt my feelings and made my version look a lot more modest 😄
But I’m keeping my own touch !
