Query about AASI
Hey guys, can someone clear my confusion about correlation of shorter height with AASI.. I am really confused as some say that people with AASI ancestry are getting taller (eg: Kerelaties) and some claim that AASI were 6 footers in anceint times but is that even correct?
Personally I have rarely found people with high AASI (based on thier looks and features) to be tall. Most of them are short asf even in North India as some believe AASI were diverse from North to South.
I live in Gangetic plains and we are from high caste background and i went to my village a few days back where i found a lot of lower castes people who seemed very high in AASI and they had relatively similar statures and heights averaging between 5'4-5'6 whereas in high caste families, i saw a lot of variations with people having 5'5 heights as well to 5'11+. Btw all mentioned heights are for males.
So given all this info, is there really a pattern or is it just because of historical malnutrition/famines and low protein diet?
