Don't use "repacks"—I lost my Instagram and had to wipe my PC to fix the malware

I honestly feel like an idiot for even doing this, but I'm sharing it so no one else has to go through it.

I thought I’d save some cash and grabbed a game "repack" from an unofficial site. Big mistake. Within a few hours, my Instagram was totally taken over. The hackers were spamming my friends with random Elon Musk pictures and following hundreds of random accounts.

Then, my computer started acting possessed. I kept getting these "Security Validation" errors every time I turned it on, and the whole system was just crashing and lagging. I realized the malware had basically buried itself into my OS.

I spent the last 24 hours just trying to fix this. I couldn't just run an antivirus scan—I had to go full "nuclear option." I wiped my entire drive, messed with my BIOS settings to get a clean Windows install, and started from scratch.

I’m finally back on a clean system now, but it was an absolute nightmare. If your PC is acting weird or your accounts start posting random spam, please, just stop trying to "fix" it with scanners. Just nuke the drive and reinstall Windows. It’s the only way to actually be safe again.

Seriously, just buy the game on sale. Saving the money is not worth losing your accounts and spending your entire weekend fixing your computer.
