I'm a brown person and the recent horrific attack in Belfast and the race riots are freaking me out. I'm sorry for the victim of that attack and hope the perpetrator is punished for it. But just today my socials were bombarded with videos of people firebombing homes and breaking doors searching for non-white people. I did not expect things to get this violent in UK. This is the kind of mob lynching that I thought was relegated to history especially in europe. I'm fearful of going out and this is making me paranoid. I've spent all morning just praying for things to end. I know people are horrified at that attack footage just as we non whites are, we too want to see that criminal behind bars forever. I just stopped my anxiety meds this jan and today I feel like I can't breathe with my panic.
