S-Grind Nakiri in Progress

Just finished up hand sanding on this S-Grind Nakiri in W2 and you can start to see the hamon line! Time to etch and fit up to the handle which will be made from resin-cast voided Desert Ironwood burl and African Blackwood. First time doing an S-grind, and has been quite challenging but fun, and some test cutting shows that it does indeed help with food release

Posted this chef commission recently, but the customer, who is gifting this to their son, also wanted something to put it in. She had said she was fine with a simple block to slot it in but I wanted to try something a little more designed, so I made this stand from Curly Maple. I hope you enjoy!
