Ranger 11/Wiz 1 + headband of intellect?

Hey all, playing with some new ideas. Bored of CHA casters and I've played an evo wiz recently, so I want to try something new.

I've never played a ranger, and beastmaster seems interesting. Given that its capstone ability hits at 11, could I take 1 wiz at the end, wear the headband, and scribe some spells for utility and/or variety? I guess a subsequent questions would be whether or not that's even worth it, since rangers don't get full spell slot progression like wizards do, so I'd be limited a bit.

Thanks in advance. Feel free to throw me some other ideas as well for ranger 11/something else 1 if you want. If it helps, I'm not wedded to beastmaster, but I would really like to try it.

Exploring new classes/build ideas

Hi all!

I’ve tried a lot of the meta stuff and some fun homebrew shit I’ve come up with in my living room. In all my runs, I haven’t ever really played Assassin.

You guys can level with me and be frank: is there a way to make Assassin shine if I don’t want to start every single combat as a surprise round? Mechanically, I understand this is the way to maximize assassin, but I don’t want to always miss out on pre-combat dialogue between characters. The standard map fights that aren’t necessarily big story beats, sure, I know the game well enough that I can reliably surprise round those. Or send Shovel out to do that shit for me, idk.

Anyway, I guess back to my question. Is there still a place for an assassin who DOESN’T rely on surprise every single combat encounter? And if so, what’s that multi class look like? Is it still GS Ranger?

I’m curious about archfey warlock for some utility and invis (in case I don’t pick Dark Urge, and I’m not concerned about min-maxing, just viability), but I’m not wedded to anything.

Any gear tips would be helpful too. I usually go for TS bow with hill giant club, but The PeopleTM seem to love banshee, which I haven’t tried. Idk.

Thanks in advance!!

Can I buy FFT: Ivalice Chronicles on S1 and then get the S2 upgrade so that I can have an actual game card?

I noticed that the S2 version of the game is a key card and the S1 version looks to be an actual game card. Can I just do this?

Thanks in advance.
