I have quite bad GAD and I finally went to see a psychiatrist about it. He prescribed me buspirone 5mg daily. I’m a 23 year old male and I’m extremely scared and anxious about losing sexual function? I’ve read some posts in the PSSD subreddit and they heavily advise against taking it and there are some people who claim they developed long term sexual dysfunction due to taking buspirone. I just want to ask about the realistic risk and whether you would recommend I start taking it or try to heal through other means. Thanks.
I know that Buspirone can worsen PSSD in people who already have it, but I have quite bad GAD for weeks and built up the courage to go see a psychiatrist and I told him specifically that I wanted a solution that didn’t cause sexual side effects. He told me that buspirone doesn’t and he told me to take 5mg daily. Of course I started researching and I came across multiple posts saying that buspirone did affect sexual function. I know messing with drugs like these is bad, but my life is a living hell right now. I can’t live my life the way I want to. In order for me to have sex I need to take either tadalafil or viagra.
I know it’s technically a prescription drug, but I was wondering if there is a quick way to getting it OTC. Located in Chengdu.
