Gas light on…

We have had our 2024 Carnival for about 3 weeks now. It’s got 64k miles on it.

Today was the first time we let the gas get low. We had about 4mi til empty, and it started running weird. It wasn’t shifting right, and we got a warning to shift to neutral and turn the engine off (as we pulled into the gas station). I turned the engine off, and then tried to turn it back on. The car tried to turn over, but wouldn’t start.

I have had many cars in my life (and have a very bad habit of letting the tank get as low as 0mi til empty - yes, I know it’s bad for the fuel pump, I don’t need to hear it), but I have NEVER had anything like this happen. Just trying to see if this is normal for this car, or if it’s possible something is wrong. It ran totally fine after we filled up.

I drive locally for about 3.5yrs now. I wake up at 3:45am, drive 45 min to get to my work at 5am, grab my truck, and then drive another 45 min to get to my delivery area.

The past few weeks, I have had SO much trouble with driving fatigue. It is a *struggle* to keep my eyes open on that second 45 min drive. I thought maybe I needed to fix my glasses prescription - nope. They gave me eye drops thinking I had dry eyes - nope.

I’ve had zero lifestyle changes. I mean, I was out of work from Nov-Feb on injury, but I figured my body would get used to it again by now. I’m probably not getting enough sleep, but are any of us?

Any suggestions on what I can do to help? I’ve tried gum, sunflower seeds (which help a bit), blasting music, cold air… and pulling over for a bit obviously.
