i am desperately searching for a jax-centric amazing digital circus fic that i read last year. i’m 99% sure it got deleted but on the off chance someone has it downloaded and knows what i’m talking about… i might believe in a god.

the main plot revolves around an adventure that caine gives where each character has to sort of “defeat or accept” an npc copy of themselves. jax ends up accepting his and it implants into his mind, it starts giving “pop-up” options for him where it takes control in certain scenarios so that he can sort of “take a break” from socializing and masking around everyone. pretty soon the npc does end up being malicious and tries to fully take over, and the rest of the cast has to save him from it by deleting it without corrupting jax’s actual code.

does this ring a bell for anyone? i first read it probably last November/December and frequently revisited it but foolishly never downloaded it. i’m desperate to find it, it’s remained one of my favorite fics in all my years of fanfic writing and reading 🥲
