What can I do to get the Featured Offer as a new Amazon seller?

Hey everyone,

I recently started selling my own jaggery products on Amazon and I’m completely new to the platform.

My products are active and published, but I’m currently not eligible for the Featured Offer (Buy Box). I have zero sales/history so far, and I’m wondering if that’s the main reason.

I’ve kept my pricing competitive and have also started looking into Amazon Ads, but I’m unsure whether running ads makes sense when I don’t have the Featured Offer yet.

For experienced Amazon sellers:
- How long did it take you to become Featured Offer eligible?
- Did getting your first few sales help?
- Is there anything specific a new seller can do to improve their chances?
- Would you recommend running ads before getting the Featured Offer?

I’d really appreciate any feedback or advice from sellers who started from zero. 🙏

Looking for feedback on my new jaggery brand before I scale

Hi everyone,

I'm building a small food brand in India called Aumak Foods, focused on selling chemical-free jaggery in blocks, cubes, and powder.

The idea is simple: offer traditionally made jaggery without added processing chemicals, packaged for modern consumers.

Right now I'm working on:

  • Branding and packaging
  • My website
  • Amazon listings
  • Local retail distribution
  • SEO and content marketing

I'm bootstrapping the business, so I'm trying to spend carefully.

If you were launching a food brand today, where would you focus first?

  • Amazon Ads
  • Meta Ads
  • Local retail stores
  • Influencer marketing
  • SEO & content
  • Something else?

I'd really appreciate honest feedback from people who've grown consumer brands. What would you do differently if you were starting from scratch?

Thanks in advance!

Getting honest feedback is difficult

One thing I’ve realized while building a food brand is that friends and family aren’t the best source of feedback.

Most people just say, “Looks good,” but that doesn’t really help.

I’m trying to find honest opinions on packaging, pricing, and what customers actually care about before launching.

How did you collect genuine feedback when you had no existing customers?
