Urethral stricture

Recently, I had a scare that my urethral stricture seemed to be worse where I had a day of urine flow was extremely weak. I made an appointment for a urologist for the following week, since that was the earliest they could see me. Leading up to the appointment, my urine flow seemed to approve immensely pretty much to normal, but I decided to go ahead and go to the appointment. The urologist didn’t do any tests or anything, I told him my past about my urethra stricture, and he immediately went into saying we need to dilate you and scheduled an appointment for the following month.

Is this normal? I felt like there should have been a urine flow test or something to see if dilation is even necessary.
