The brake hose recall is no joke
If you have a 2015-2018 edge or 2016-2018 mkx and you have not done the brake hose recall NHTSA #20V469 schedule it right now. The recalls describes it as decreased brake performance but what they fail to add is it can lead to catastrophic brake failure as well.
This is the front brake hose on my wifes 15. This occurred after a panic stop after someone ran a red light in front of her. Fortunately there was no collision but the brakes gradually got worse and worse on her drive home. When I got in the car to pull it into the garage the brakes were non existent and ended up needing to shift into reverse to get the car stopped.
Fortunately nothing major happened but it very easily could have been her and my daughter going down a steep grade hill with a sheer drop they commute daily. Additionally there is a recall notice with parts not yet available for the same problem on the rear hoses. I am not sure that this is a car I feel comfortable putting my family in any more.
