What I really want from Investments: a customized rate of return

I've had a mixed reaction to the new Investments feature in Boldin. I really like the Today pane, and the calculated asset allocation across all accounts. I'd like to see that same % view, rather than just $, for each individual account as well. But I do like this feature.

What I would really like is for Boldin to take these asset mixes, and offer the user a customized rate of return for each account, that they could select instead of the Aggressive/Moderately Aggressive etc preset values. Having gone to the trouble of computing the asset mixes for each account, why not go one step further and compute a customized rate assumption?

I know this is one of the top questions users have when building their retirement model: what rate assumption should I use?

As for the Investments > Future panel, I don't see the value. This is perhaps a philosophical argument, but I see Boldin as a retirement modeling tool, and I'd like them to focus their efforts on enhancing that capability.

I don't want that effort spent on offering investment advice. There are other tools for that purpose.

Questions for people on Experience More with Appreciation Savings

I got migrated from my previous One with Promo plan to the Signature TI plan (SOC: C26VALA2L). I have 6 lines total, 1 of which is free. I'm considering moving over to the More with Appreciation Savings plan, which is going to be $25 cheaper than my current plan. Yes I know, it's not TI... per T-Force, taxes and fees for my location (TX) are $6.19/per line, so $37.15 for 6 lines. So it's not worth it for my current situation.

But... I'm needing to add 2 more lines, and several of my 6 current lines are on older phones that want to upgrade. So in my particular case, the More with Appreciation Savings starts to look attractive for the following reasons:

  1. current BOGO promo allows me to bring in a free line (not available on Signature TI)
  2. Device trade in promos for new line are higher for with More with Appreciation Savings
  3. Device trade in promos for upgrades are higher for with More with Appreciation Savings

By my calculation:

Option 1: Stay on Signature TI, current rate $253 for 6 lines

  • add 2 lines: +$62, for a total monthly of $315
  • trade in promo of $325 for the iphone 12 both of my 2 new lines currently have
  • trade in promo of $300 for iphone 15 that my current lines want to upgrade

Option 2: Move to More with Appreciation Savings, current rate $265 ($228+$37 tax/fees) for 6 lines

  • add 2 lines: +$43 ($31 BOGO + $12 taxes/fees), for a total monthly of $308
  • new line trade in promo of $630 (?) for the iphone 12
  • existing line upgrade trade in promo of $630 (?) for iphone 15

Apologies for the wordy intro, but these last 2 bullets are where I need confirmation from anyone here who is on the More with Appreciation Savings plan, and would be willing to check on their accounts for me by going down the "Add a Line" and "Upgrade Device" flows partially to see what the trade in promos are, for:

  • iphone 12, when adding a line
  • iphone 15, when upgrading an existing line.

For both, I'd appreciate if you would note the offered trade in value, and scrolling down to the bottom of the promo page, note the Offer ID and name.

I've tried to get this info from T-Force, and have received conflicting info. The big issue for me is that if I swtich to the More with Appreciation Savings plan, I'll not be able to go back to Signature, and the TI world. I hate to go to the tax excluded (TE) side, but in my specific case, the numbers seem to work in my favor. But I need to be 100% sure.

That's why I'm asking here. Thanks in advance for the help.
