Do we have any idea yet if the solo careers will be covered?

Question for all of you who have been following the leaked set pictures and whatnot, has there been anything revealed yet that suggests that any part of the band’s solo careers will be addressed in the films? I mainly wonder this because I feel like the narrative structure of the films will generally end on a low note if the end of the band is the end of the movies. For someone like Paul in particular, he’s said that the time around late 1969 to early 1970 was a very depressing and dark time for him. It would be an unconventional movie structure if it ended on such a note.

It bugs me when they do this

When they put in fake categories that make you waste a guess. All four of these are big 90s songs that start with ‘no’ (No Diggity, No Scrubs, No Rain and No Surprises) It’s clearly intentional on their part, and there’s no way to know it’s not a legitimate group of four without using a guess.

Pitchfork giving Best New Music to that new Olivia Rodrigo album is outrageous and depressing

I know we haven’t given a damn about Pitchfork for 15 years at this point, but come on. Sure, that song called The Cure is a very solid pop ballad, but otherwise it’s such an anaemic, bland, boring album. Most of it feels like waiting room music that leaves your brain the second it’s over, and the couple of tracks that try to mix things up just come off as really awkward and misguided. I actually quite liked her last album - I can’t see how anyone could see this new one as anything but a major step down.

Just finished listening to the entire Zep discography - what next?

Always liked the band, but figured it was about time I went completely front-to-back and listened to everything I could. I did every studio album, then every live album available on streaming. What a great trip.

A couple thoughts:

- My favourite album overall was How The West Was Won. What a brilliant live album. Many of the performances on there are going to be the default versions I reach for going forward. If we’re strictly talking studio albums, Houses of the Holy is the one for me.

- As great as it is, I’ve heard enough versions of Dazed and Confused for a while. It features very heavily on all the live albums.

- The Rain Song is now my favourite song of theirs, closely followed by Ramble On. I think when they’re being a bit more mystical and esoteric is my preferred mode of the band, rather than the hard rocking blues stuff (which is great too obviously).

- Stairway to Heaven really stands alone as a very unique song in their discography. There isn’t one quite like it before or after it.

- I would have loved to hear where they might have gone in the 80s. There’s some great stuff on those last two albums.

What do I check out now? Bootlegs? Movies? Books? How should I keep going down the rabbit hole?
