Jimmy Page performs live at The Oakland Coliseum on July 23, 1977
Favorite Jonesy live bass moment?
Mine’s either when the bass comes in during the Boogie Chillen jam on How The West Was Won or the syncopated bass during the solo on Over The Hills And Far Away live MSG
My recent record haul!
I Recently visited some family in Wrocław, and seeing the multitude of record shops there, I had to go in and get some stuff. Here they are:
- Japanese 10th anniversary limited edition of Led Zeppelin, 1979. This is a very cool piece. Since it’s a Japanese pressing, it comes with the Obi, which is still intact and contrasts very nicely with the cover, adding some pop of colour. The record itself is very clean, and plays nicely, notably on the organs of Your time is gonna come, and has honestly made me realise so many details throughout the album I didn’t hear before. The inserts with the lyrics and The Atlantic Catalogue is also a very cool piece of history
- West German First Pressing of Physical Grafitti, 1975. Although the cover and the sleeves aren’t in the best condition (as you can see), this is still a very cool piece, and I love how you can just take out the sleeves and just put whoever you want from the sleeves into the Windows. Although there are some minor signs of wear of the record, it still sounds very nice, and even though I’ve seen people say that this is a very bad pressing, I actually disagree and it honestly sounds great.
Jimmy in beautiful color!! Found this several years ago online. All credit to the artists name at the bottom right that I can't quite make out.

I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL: "Everybody Makes it Through" (CODA) is superior to the final "In the Light". Anyone agree?
I will die on this hill! I prefer the raw emotive feeling of Everybody Makes it Through from CODA over the final mix of In The Light from Physical Graffiti.
Have I made any enemies today or do some of you feel the same?
EDIT: The responses so far are making me think this is one of the most awesome subreddits on Reddit. You people rock! 🤘
Custard Pie is a better song than The Rover. Change my mind.
reddit.comWhich of John Bonham’s drum sets is your favorite, the Green Sparkle or the Amber Vistalite?
TIL that Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham suffered from intense homesickness, to the point of crying on tour in the US. His manager, Peter Grant, bribed him with expensive gifts to keep touring and Bonham relied on alcohol to cope, which ultimately led to his death from alcohol poisoning at just 32.

Do you think Plant, Page or JPJ ever reached Led Zeppelin-level greatness after Zep?
That: do you think Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, or John Paul Jones ever created anything post Led Zeppelin that you would consider a masterpiece or genuinely exceptional?
I’m talking about something that, in your opinion, reaches the level of songs like Stairway to Heaven, The Rain Song, Over the Hills and Far Away, Kashmir, Black Dog, etc.
It can be anything: a studio recording, a solo song, a different version of something they’ve played live, a collaboration..
things that you think deserve to be considered truly great in their own right, rather than simply “good for a post Zeppelin project.”
So, is there anything by Plant, Page, or JPJ after Led Zeppelin that you would put in that category? And if so, what would be your #1 choice?
