High fibre causes pain, low fibre causes pain.

When the pain first started I tried high fibre so my bowels were constantly emptied and I didn’t have constipation as I read somewhere that constipation is a big no no.
Tried low fibre and while I got a some relief from pain, maybe 24 hours. I can now feel stool forming and the pain is back. Pretty sure I will be constipated again causing more pain and I’m taking laxido twice a day to keep the stools soft.

What is the best thing to do here?

I’m still waiting for my follow up outpatient appointment since I have my colonoscopy/endoscopy which shows mild gastritis and very mild diverticula disease.
I’ve rang the consultants secretary 3 times and she just doesn’t get back to me. Should have had the appointment within the first 6 weeks and we are now 10 weeks past. I’m in pain everyday and I’m going on a 3 day Europe trip on Thursday.

How do you know you’re in a flair?

I got diagnosed with diverticula disease very low grade about 10 weeks ago via colonoscopy.
Ever since the procedure I’ve really been struggling daily with lower left abdominal pain. I’ve also had Lower back pain right behind it which feels almost in my hip.
I feel constantly bloated/achey and it feels like I’m sunburnt inside sometimes or being pinched from the inside. It’s literally everyday most of the day and really uncomfortable.

I’m still waiting for my follow up appointment but how do you know it is a flair? It can’t be normal to be in this pain daily no matter what I eat or do. I’m passing stool/gas regularly but it persists .

If I got to A&E what can they actually do?

Any help?

Diverticulitis pathway.

Hi all,

I had a colonoscopy a couple of months ago and I was was diagnosed with diverticula disease as the consultant noticed a couple of pouches during the procedure.

I’d been having the odd lower left sided ache just left of my belly button now and then.
These last 2 weeks I’ve basically had aches in that area, just under my belly button and sometimes on the right side every day. It comes after food and sometimes is there when I’m hungry as well. I eat pretty healthy but do struggle with constipation which I’m trying to resolve.

For others, is this a the same path you all followed leading to diverticulitis?

Any tips to not letting develop to full blown diverticulitis??

Anyone had multiple samples showing sperm still?

Hey,

Had my procedure done in Jan. had 3 months before my sample and I achieved somewhere between 20-30 ejaculations in that time and probably more. The sample can back saying “some sperm are still present so anther sample is required”. I did my second one last week and revived the same txt after multiple ejaculations that sperm was still present.
I’ve got a third sample in 2 months time.

Anyone have to do multiple samples because of present sperm?

Varicocele flare up on holiday

Hi all. 39 years old, I was diagnosed last year with a small varicocele after an episode of left testicular dull ache and heaviness. I also had left flank pain which they thought were my kidneys at first. I’ve been managing it ever since and I’ve just come on holiday and it’s flared up pretty bad. What does everyone take or do to help the flare pass ? Ibuprofen? Ice? It’s not ideal being in swim shorts with this pain.

Diagnosed with diverticular and daily aches lower left side.

I recently had a endoscopy and colonoscopy. Endoscopy showed mild gastritis and duodentitis due to trying to wean off PPi having excess stomach acid in that process. I’m back on the PPi for that.
The colonoscopy came back normal apart from a couple of diverticular in the sigmoid. I do suffer with constipation which I think is from the PPi meds.
I have been having mild aches on the lower left side since the scope ( he was very rough, I’ve had 2 before which were easy but this one was very painful). I did have some aches on the lower left side before it too but they have increased since. It comes after most meals and is a dull ache that comes and goes throughout the day. I had a brief period of sharp stabbing pains Lower left side that would stop me doing whatever I was doing this were that painful but they have stopped.

Is anyone similar to me?

I haven’t had my follow up appointment yet so was just looking on here for similar stories as the doctors just give the same advice which isn’t always helpful.
