When does the “sole of air” kick in?

I’ve been wearing this puppies about six hours a day, four days a week for the past month, and the sole still feels pretty hard. Am I on track to having comfortable shoes, or is this as good as it gets?

So far, they’re feeling less like Solovairs and more like Solovblocks.

Gig two days after procedure

I have my procedure on Monday at 2 PM, and a gig scheduled for Wednesday night at 5:30 PM. I’m a cocktail musician at a country club – I sing songs and play acoustic guitar, usually standing, sometimes sitting. I’ve gone all this time thinking that it shouldn’t be an issue, but now that I’m three days out, I’m having second thoughts. Is this risky?

I won’t need to lift any heavy equipment, apart from a ~15lb speaker and a gig bag with my 00 sized acoustic. I also play pretty gentle music; James Taylor, Jack Johnson, Bob Marley, etc.

For what it’s worth, gigging is my full-time job, and this is a pretty standard gig, but pays well.

The live band in Astoria Park

I just went on a 🍃 walk and randomly stumbled upon the cover band playing in Astoria Park tonight. As a classic rock lover, I need to take a second to hype up this band.

As I walked into the park, I wouldn’t have known any better if the band playing was Journey themselves; Steve Perry on vocals, and an absolutely electric band backing him up. Great crowd too.

I sometimes reflect on the fact that so many of my favorite artists are historic and un-seeable, so to enjoy an authentic classic rock experience was f*cking transcendent.

They’re called “Bon Journey”
