Regarding the being(s) in Disclosure Day
Curious if anyone else felt similarly after watching the film.
I enjoyed it quite a bit, but at times it felt like an “adult E.T.” to me. What I mean by that is that Spielberg seemed to handle the Grey aesthetic with kid gloves. The beings weren’t especially frightening, and they appeared to have more humanized features than what I personally experienced.
The heads felt much rounder and softer. The eyes, while still black, didn’t trigger the same reaction in me that a lot of Grey imagery tends to. I got the impression this may have been intentional, perhaps to reinforce the empathy angle and make audiences relate more easily to the visitors.
In my own experience, they appeared much sharper and more distinct in form. The eyes seemed significantly larger, more almond-shaped, and carried a much more piercing gaze than what was shown in the film.
I was curious whether this stood out to anyone else, or if others had a similar reaction while watching. Interested to hear your thoughts. If you’re interested in my experience you should be able to see my story in this subreddit on my profile :)
Anyone work the IT/systems side of trucking?
I’m a database programmer looking to eventually make my way into this industry. Oracle SQL, ETL, ERP systems, that’s my background. The trucking interest is genuine, not a career pivot strategy.
Curious if anyone here works on the systems side: fleet management platforms, dispatch software, ERP, anything data-related and what that world actually looks like from the inside. Open to any stories, advice, or honest “don’t bother” takes.
Not looking to drive. Just looking for a lane. Cheers!
