at first, the issue was that i wasn't able to type anything or press enter, then after a bit, it started outputting garbled text & then completely stopped outputting anything.

even after rebooting, it still had no output.

the board is a Notioni R221s (some people call it "Boosteven R221s"), but it is not known widely.

the usb to serial i had used was the CP2102 (2nd image)
