As RM of BTS and Kim Namjoon the human opens his first-ever exhibition (link to SFMOMA), so does r/bangtan!

We’ve put together a small virtual gallery with the pieces and commentary from our 260912 RM Birthday Project: the r/bangtan art show post.

Click here to view our gallery.

Thank you again to everyone who participated and added both your piece and your story.  I think we did pretty great as curators and added some beauty to the world 💜

If anyone is still interested in participating, feel free to go to the original post to add your piece and we'll add it to the gallery!

September continues with another birthday and another birthday project! This year, in addition to our usual birthday appreciation posts, we're also hosting small member birthday projects! Each will generally include a little prompt to help us celebrate our seven favorite humans.

This time, it’s our resident leader and human, lover, joshua tree, bass clef (and more?) Let’s give him, and ourselves, a fitting celebration, (link to tenor)!

RM Birthday Project: the r/bangtan art show

As our art lover and nascent curator prepares for the launch of his first show on a global scale, we thought it would be fun to put ourselves in his shoes and think of our own relationship with the visual arts. How do we connect to them and use them on a personal level? What type of experiences and relationships have we built with art over the years?

For the project:

• Post a photo of an visual art piece with personal significance: This can be a painting, a sculpture, or a multimedia piece.
• Tell us a little bit about the significance of this piece, and visual arts in general, to your personal history and development as a human Is there a story behind it? How has interacting with this piece, or with art in general, helped you through life?

Art Show:

We will be taking the photos of your pieces and posting a small virtual art gallery of r/bangtan’s favorite art on our wiki!

Happy happy birthday to our baby star candy, big strong muscle man Jung Kook (link to tenor)!!

This year, in addition to our usual birthday appreciation posts, we're also hosting small member birthday projects. Each will generally include a little prompt to help us celebrate our seven favorite humans.

Jung Kook Birthday Project: Beautiful Moments

The golden maknae is not only good at everything, but also has the energy, curiosity, and determination to deeply explore his interests outside of his main job, which has been inspiring to all of us!

For his birthday, we wanted to do a little exploring of our own, inspired by his latest adventures in photography and music.

For the project:

• Post a photo that reminds you of exploration, JK-style: a landscape, glowing street light, cityscape, or anything else that captures exploration, growth, adventure, or finding beauty in everyday life.
• Recommend a song to go with your photo: What song would you pair with that moment, and why?

Share your beautiful moments here! 💜

Giveaway:

• Anyone who participates here is eligible to enter a raffle for a package of Jung Kook fan made merch (buttons and stickers) and a copy of Golden. The winner will be chosen at random and notified via DM! Must be willing to share name and address with mod team. Personal info will be deleted after prize is sent. Hi r/bangtan!

With this comeback (tenor) now in full swing, we’re welcoming a wave of new ARMY, both to the fandom as well as to r/bangtan. This makes this a perfect moment to discuss, share, and celebrate together.

So, we’d love to invite everyone, new fans and veterans alike, to start more discussions! If something excites you, makes you curious, or you just want to hear other perspectives (and, of course, also follows our discussion guidelines post it! To those of you who have already started some of our recent discussions - thank you! They make the sub a better place ☺️

As part of this, we could also revisit some of the topics we discuss frequently, but have not touched upon recently, such as:

• City and travel guides for any of the tour stops. If you’re from a city that’s on the list - give us your favorite places and other tips you might have for fellow ARMY (Note that we already have fantastic guides for Dallas/Arlington, New York City/New Jersey, Chicago, and London - check them out if you’re going to one of those dates!)
• Favorite song/album/era
• How did you become a fan?
• What are some songs and playlists that will help a new ARMY learn about BTS
• Favorite BTS friendship moment
• What BTS project (film, book, variety show) deserves more attention? Why?
• Which era’s aesthetic do you love most? Why?
• What non-BTS music have you discovered because of BTS?
• How has your taste in BTS music changed over time?
• And more!

Even if it’s a topic we’ve discussed before, it’s worth revisiting, so long as we haven’t had a discussion on it within the last six months!

Happy swimming (tenor) posting!
