I have just noticed this detail that centrifuge works in 2 ways.

1st when Grace discovers the centrifuge the first time to make the lab operational(how it is supposed to be).

2nd when Rocky ship starts to spin. Now to dock with the Rocky ship Grace modifies the centrifugal settings. Thats why Mary says "It is not advised to change the centrifugal settings."

Rocky made a figure of Grace with the same action that he did after catching the canister on the hill of the ship.

When he enables centrifuge for the first time you see the reaction of these eridian equipment out on their ship.

My point is Rocky might be able to see(hear) what is going on out there without using his echolocation but using this equipment that can translate light into something Rocky might be able to understand.

They created a 3D board that replicates everything Grace writes on the normal white board.

In the scene when Grace finds out that he is in space we get a good look at the whole ship. And according to the movie the tail(first image) is the place where the spin drives are. So, if Grace is feeling the gravity (second image) toward the tail, the ship should be decelerating as it reaches its destination Tau Ceti(third image).
