The father built a company around limiting legal exposure and now he's watching his kids, Ammon and Matt McNeff create literally the most liability possible for zero gain. Also they've absolutely destroyed the family name. If even go as far as to say this is a bit of a black eye for the entire community really.

I'm curious, how do you think those calls home go? Loving supporting father or "you fucks need to change your names".

Coffeezilla’s coverage was not the vindication you seem to think it was.

If anything, it made the core problem look worse.

Coffeezilla appears to have been able to come to attributable dollar values and track specific inventory issues in a matter of weeks. Meanwhile, Bricks & Minifigs had 16+ months before the public pressure campaign to answer the most basic question in this entire dispute:

Do you have Bryan’s LEGO or not?

That is not a complicated PR question.

That is not a “creator drama” question.

That is an inventory and accounting question.

And after all this time, the public is still watching Bricks & Minifigs act like it is vindicating that someone else had to do the work you should have done privately, directly, and transparently a long time ago.

The fallout did not happen as a result of Ben's engagement.

It did not happen because Reddit asked questions.

It did not happen because customers and franchisees suddenly became unreasonable.

The fallout happened because Bricks & Minifigs engaged in bad faith with the people who trusted the brand.

Customers wanted answers.

Franchisees needed leadership.

Bryan needed accountability.

Instead, the response looked defensive, legalistic, selective, and hostile to basic transparency.

That is why people lost trust.

Not because the internet is mean.

Because the company had well over a year to resolve this before the public pressure started, and somehow still could not clearly answer whether it had the LEGO, what was sold, what remained, what was missing, and what Bryan was owed.

At this point, the path forward is simple:

Drop the aggressive legal pursuit.

Stop trying to litigate your way out of a trust problem.

Give Bryan a full accounting.

Return what is his.

Pay for what cannot be accounted for.

And apologize - plainly, publicly, and without corporate weasel words.

The damage to the brand did not come from people asking questions.

It came from how Bricks & Minifigs treated customers and franchisees when those questions deserved answers.

Not sure if anyone saw it, but noticed the statement about Joshua Johnson and Brandon Best from B&M was changed.

I find it kind of interesting. On one hand they added 'complete', suggesting Joshua Johnson and Brandon Best no longer own franchises. On the other hand, they added 'as franchisees' suggesting they may have employment with corporate. In any event, all of these people are assholes and you should assume all of their statements are made in bad faith, as has been recorded and experienced repeatedly for 18 months.

Look fellas. You missed and made a mess of your company, your lives, your employees lives, your franchisees livelihood, Ben and his crew's lives, Crystal's life, and Bryan's life. You had the option to return or compensate and you declined repeatedly and had persons with material interest in their property you possessed trespassed. You attempted to legally strongarm a theft of thousands. You successfully had Ben arrested for stalking when he applied public pressure to coerce you to do what you should have simply done on your own accord every day since you took possession in 2024. The 'attempt to return' is on video, as is the repeated follow-up, recantation, and insults which followed from Brandon and Josh. This brazen withholding, cover up, and likely sale of Bryan's property is civilly liable and almost certainly criminally liable.

That's all done now. You need to decide what you can do to improve the situation going forward. Good first steps in compensating Bryan no strings attached (assumption, do the right thing) and releasing Josh and Brandon. You guys need to let Ki go as well. Once you've addressed the unethical conduct of your staff, you need to look inward and find the humility to drop all suits, apologize to the community and all parties, and find out if your company can be profitable if you run it ethically.

That's it. Man up and apologize. As is so often in life when we get in our own way, the answer is just to reflect, say I'm sorry, and try harder to be better. You can do this guys.
