Science-backed skincare brands are replacing influencer-led branding in India

Over the last year, most funded beauty startups seem to be shifting toward dermat-backed positioning instead of influencer-heavy branding.

The latest example being CHOSEN raising $5M from Fireside Ventures and L'Oréal's BOLD.

This could just be a funding narrative thing. But consumers are genuinely getting more ingredient-aware and investors seem to be following that shift.

Do you think clinical credibility is the future of Indian skincare, or is this just a new coat of paint on the same marketing game?
