Kudos used to be one of my favorite apps… now basic features are locked behind Premium

I’ve been using Kudos since the early days when the app first launched, and honestly, it used to feel refreshing compared to a lot of other finance/rewards apps. The interface was simple, useful, and the core features actually felt accessible without constantly being pushed into a subscription.

But lately it feels like more and more basic functions are being locked behind the Premium membership. Features that originally made the app useful now feel restricted unless you pay monthly. I understand companies need to make money, but it’s disappointing seeing an app that started out user-friendly slowly become another subscription-based service.

Part of what made Kudos great was that it helped everyday users maximize rewards without feeling nickel-and-dimed. Now it feels like free users are getting a stripped-down version of what the app used to be.

I’m not against paying for genuinely advanced features (which still don’t work), but putting core functionality behind Premium just makes the experience frustrating. It’s sad because I really used to recommend this app to people all the time. Now I’m honestly considering deleting it.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Got an email that says “Earn an extra 6% cash back

In addition to the rewards you already earn with your Discover® Card. Now through May 31, 2026 on up to $500 in new purchases.” I have activated, but where can I check the progress on this?

Check your emails just got this. Not sure if it’s fully legit but if it is, does anyone know how to check it?
