This spiel very much rubbed me the wrong way (the book that brought this about was a Finlay Donovan book).

A white woman wanting to only read things that are relatable, while also reading about fae and dystopians and whatever else fantasy is nothing new. It's that she's so performative. She talks all the time about how diversity is important, but meanwhile she only picks up diverse books if they're mega popular (pretty sure I've never seen her read a queer book either). Last year for realmathom she had something like 12 hosts and all of them were white. This year she did somewhat better, but I wonder if it's cause she got called out for it.

It also annoys me every time she says she doesn't like kids cause she says it so often. Like, OK, you have no sympathy for people who's brains aren't as developed as yours. We get it.
