I have made this list for aspirants having rank of 3L to reaching to infinity, at this rank you would have decent options in ipu colleges and today I've been highlighting 5 hyped colleges you must ignore and providing detailed explanation for the point.
Colleges on top list are to avoid at any cost, bottom ones could still work
1.mait-msit-bvcoe core
It doesn't includes cse family and ece family
Core includes mechanical, electrical, instrumental, civil if you are getting these branches avoid such branches as you would have to suffer because opportunities you would get is very limited all ipu colleges are not more than tier 2 and at this level frankly you have to work your a** off
2.hmr
Tbh the main problem of these colleges are crowd having ranks of 10+L you would limit your opportunities at this rank better option is take admission in reputable private colleges via management seat these colleges have highest packages of 15lpa on off campus even mass recruiters prefer better colleges than hmr/dtc if you can't afford high fees , to overcome you need to build skills on your own build Refferals and work on dsa
At this level you have to carefully select your peer it could act as a double edge sword
3.vips
Only positives about this college is infrastructure reputation in other courses and baddies 🥀 yeah that's what an important criteria students were talking about but it's median package falls too below even hmr outperforming its btech package in cse, however it would grow in future but right now it's on grey zone to consider/ignore atleast better than hmr , God knows after 4 years it may score better ranking in ipu colleges but it's highly doubtful
4.gtbit
First of all getting into gtbit is a tough job for non Sikhs with ranks closing for cse family at 2.5L and for other states its under 1L i mean it's a great rank you could find better ranked colleges than gtbit the main cons this college having is poor infra, very small campus area and crowd, yea minority can get into this college at 10-14L ranks in cream branches i mean as a non sikh you are the topper of whole class 😭 70 -75 percent are seats reserved for sikhs and believe me crowd really matters just like size 🤞
5.usar
It would be a great option if you are getting aids-aiml but at high ranks which i have mentioned you will left with a/r and iiot which are to be honest not bad branches but the college is comparatively very new with very limited alumini , it would grow massively in future that's why i put it in bottom but rn it's on the grey zone

Strongest alumini to exist in all ipu colleges cutoff ranges 1L-1.3L for cream branches

Newly established college providing new age branches having 2nd biggest campus in ipu university after usict cutoff ranges 1.3-1.4L for cream branches
4.msit
Having same level as mait but students generally avoid it for strict attendance and academic pressure
Cutoff ranges from 1.4-1.6L for cream branches
5.bvcoe
Considered best upper tier 3 college for btech and favoured by students cutoff ranges from 2L for cream branches

It's often neglected for its poor infrastructure equivalent to school vibes , area and location but it offers one of the best roi amongst all ipu colleges with avg package reaching 9lpa because of strong alumini and coding culture that's why cutoff ranges from 2-2.5L for cream branches

Highly controversial , did a great job for other courses but btech is comparatively very new branch on vips , praised for reputation infrastructure crowd and location cutoff ranges close to 4L for cream branches

It's one of best option for low rankers it has lower fees for which students charged a ton of money in pvt colleges with decent reputation cutoff ranges from 4-6L for cream branches
9.gtbit
Having the same or better level than adgips but rank lowers because it's basically a minority Institute praised for great location metro connectivity but lacks infra cutoff ranges from 3-4L for gen candidates while minority can close upto 10L
10.usct
Govt tag benefits sister college of usict better than if u are considering hmr/dtc , great reputation but generally not preferred because branches offered here are not creamy 😋cutoff can go upto 10L in some cases

guys ye meri personal frustration hai 😭 jesa mujhe sahi lagta hai mai vahi bolunga iska yeh matlab nahi hai ki VIPS hi naya USICT hai. I mean VIPS ek sabse best option hai tbh 😭 agar tumhe MAIT/MSIT/USAR/BVCO/BPIT vagera top colleges mai CSE related roles na mile to mai nahi chahta juniors log ye galti kare. Meri last year rank 2.82 thi, us time mai bhi in sab jhol mai aa gaya tha ki ye naya college hai 😭 kaun lega ise, better to adgips hai. Frankly mujhe is rank mai VIPS ki CSE related branch mil jati but I chose adgip CSE/AI and my one friend with 3.5 lakh rank took admission in VIPS AI/ML and believe me 😭 I am regretting like oh God... Yeh VIPS ka infra bahut accha tha par maine socha yeh barbaad college hai, jh.. bhar ki placements karega, but I was wrong. Iske dusre courses me itni achi repo thi ki is college ne pehle 2 saal mai hi Deloitte aur Oracle jaisi companies le aaye 💔. Tbh abhi bacche utne ache nahi hai ki opportunities bahut mile. Adgips ek steady rate me hi progress kar raha 😭 mujhe ye bhi nahi pata ye progress hai ya C***?. Vo to bhagwan ka acha hua ki is saal VIPS ki placement report bahut kharab aayi. Mera VIPS mai padhne wala dost bol raha ki placement cell mai issue ho gaya tha. Ye sunke mera aur dil toot gaya 😭 ki ye internal fault tha, warna mai to soch raha tha ki VIPS ke bacche hi c hai. Mujhe darr lag raha hai ki jab meri BTech khatam ho tab ye VIPS mere college se upar rank na karne lage 😭. Kya muh dikhaunga mai kisi ko. Bas juniors ko ek advice dunga ki agar tumhari rank 2.6–3.5 lakh+ hai to isme tumhe aur kuch accha mil hi nahi sakta. Zyada bargaining karni thi college ki to 1–2 lakh ke andar le aate. Ab itne mai sirf top colleges ki core branches ya GTB/BEEP/VIPS ki good branches hi mil sakti hain. Mere opinion me VIPS le lena, aage tumhari marzi 🤣. Mujhe pata hai kai seniors ko VIPS se dikkat hogi, but believe me baaki colleges phir non-existent hi hai. Meri pichle saal g phat gayi ye dekh ke ki VIPS ki spot round CSE ki closing hi 2.6 lakh ke around thi 🥀. Mai AI/ML le sakta tha par... Anyways, always prefer USICT > MAIT > MSIT > USAR > BVC > BPIT CSE, then VIPS.

Bhai kya sirf mujhe lag raha hai ya USAR ka scene actually improve ho raha hai Ngl, pehle main bhi sochta tha ki "naya college hai, kya hi hoga." Har jagah log bas uski burai hi karte the. But jitna maine recent batches aur placement discussions dekhe hain, utna lag raha hai ki college dheere dheere apna game build kar raha hai Matlab obviously abhi koi IIT ya NSUT level nahi hai, aur aisa bolna bhi bakchodi hogi. Lekin AI, Robotics,Automation aur IIoT pe focus dekh ke lagta hai ki direction sahi hai Campus bhi pehle se better lag raha hai, labs improve hui hain aur companies ka interest bhi dheere dheere badhta hua sunne ko mil raha hai Aur ek cheez notice kari? Cutoffs bhi pehle jaisi nahi rahi. Shayad log ab sirf "new college" bolke ignore nahi kar rahe. Agar placements har saal improve hote rahe to 4–5 saal baad cutoff aur upar jaana mujhe surprising nahi lagega Haan, problems hongi Har naye college mein hoti hain But bina alumni aur placement history ke koi bhi college overnight famous nahi banta.
