Skin chemistry matters a lot!

I was hanging out with a friend and we both sprayed his new PDM Pegasus Exclusif on our inner arms just to smell it. Some time has passed and the dry down on my skin is a lot of vanilla and and hints of oud, but on his arm, you can only smell the oud and its really strong. We were obviously surprised by this discovery and how different it smells on different people.

We then found out that my skin tends to bring out sweeter and clean notes, while his skin tends to bring out the more animalic and dark notes.

With this discovery, I promise myself to never buy a full bottle without spraying on my skin. Ideally I would finish a 5ml decant to really know how it works with my skin and how it fits into my daily life.

My 5-bottle designer collection built over 3 years.

The Lineup (Left to Right):
- YSL Myself L'Absolu: The best out of the myslf line up imo. Spicy take on the dna but so smooth and long lasting. Sophisticated daily wear.
- Valentino Uomo Born in Roma EDT: People around me love this one. Such an easy wear and works everywhere, anytime. Dumb reach.
- Dior Homme Intense: Addicting iris. My most elegant designer fragrance. More versatile than people think.
- Maison Margiela Replica - Under the Stars: Super good especially on rainy days. Leather and oud are the prominent notes. The oud is sweet and not like the usual middle eastern oud.
- JPG Le Male Le Parfum: Clubbing/date fragrance. The lavender makes it fresh but the vanilla and iris combo is so alluring.

I truly believe that taking your time to sample and try new scents before comitting to a full bottle is the only way to enjoy the hobby and not waste money. Dont blind buy EVER.

What next? Ingenious ginger, Orpheon, Dior Homme 2020, or BDC EDP?
