Does anyone have experience with SunRun VPP?

I'm considering the virtual power plant thing that they talked to me about yesterday. I read through the documents and it looks like it works as they say, paying $0.11/kwh to them but not owning the panels or battery. Is anyone participating already? How has your experience been?

I've got a heat pump that's been not cooling/cooling very weakly when it does cool. I'm being told that the charge is normal, but I don't really trust the technician that was here. My understanding with the sight glass though is that I shouldn't see and bubbling if it's properly charged, which is what it looks like to me, but I'm not experienced in what it should look like to be sure of what I'm seeing.

Edit: Thanks y'all, I really appreciate the explanations and helping me understand this stuff.
