Saving stuff because I saved it

I have a lot of stuff that the only reason I seem to have it is because I kept it. This means there is a big backlog to sort through and it is honestly hard.

But I've at least taught myself to start getting rid of stuff as fast as possible that has no value so I at least don't fall into this trap in the future.

Stuff I saved forever only to not be a hit

I have a ton of toys from my childhood that I wouldn't let my parents get rid of since I thought I'd let me future kids play with them, so they persisted in my parents' house and eventually ended up in storage at mine. Eventually I got them out for my kid who just.... wasn't interested. It was so anticlimactic.

He sees absolutely no value in this stuff and at t his point I probably do not need to save this until I'm elderly in the event he has children.

I have slowly gotten rid of some of these items giving them away to people on the local facebook group and it was hard doing it, but I got over it. I kept a couple toys that look cool that I have on a shelf in my office on display.

But I still have a whole lot of this stuff in boxes. It's difficult. The fact I saved some of this stuff for over 30 years makes it harder.

One thing I like better about SAK vs Leatherman

I was a SAK guy for years, then got caught up by the leatherman thing and then more recently got bit by something and bought a couple of really cool SAKs.

One thing I really like about the SAK is how there is a lot of standardization. You get the same tools, just in different combinations. It seems much more reliable.

Each letherman has a completely different pair of scissors, completely different knife, completely different screwdrivers and so on.

dream leatherman tool?

Currently there is no Leatherman tool on the market that meets my need exactly. I own a whole bunch of them.

I actually really like the skeletool since it is light, and really resmbles a pocket knife more than a full multitool.

My dream would be a skeletool, but that has 2 additional items: scissors, and some aspect of it that can act as a pry tool.

This would be absolutely perfect.

I have a charge and a free p4 but they're just too big to have on me all the time. The skeletool is pretty great, but the lack of scissors means I need to carry something else.
