Brave Origin vs Brave on Linux

I recently learned about Brave Origin and I got really excited. It sounded the perfect version of Brave for me. I love everything about Brave but it always takes a bit of time to disable everything I dont use like crypto stuff, AI, etc. I had always assumed Brave would be even faster and more resource efficient if it didnt have that so I installed Origin.

I have been testing a few days and I'm really surprised that Origin always requires more resources (RAM for sure) than regular Brave. Is that the expected behavior/the goal of Origin? If the purpose of Origin is just to not have crypto, AI, etc. but regular Brave is more resource efficient, wouldn't it be easier to just create a script or extension that would disable all of that at the touch of a button and keep spending all the time and effort on regular Brave?

KDE vs LXQT

I really like LXQT with the basic applications menu (not the fancy applications menu) but I have not used it near as much as KDE. Ignoring visual preferences, what are the things, functionally speaking, that KDE can do that LXQT cannot? I assume there is very little functional difference but I am not a power user and dont use any of the DEs to their fullest capabilities.

I like small, clean installs with very little going on in the background. I just want to setup my apps (plex, qbittorrent, timemachine, brave browser, syncthing, anydesk, luckybackup) and permanently mount my NAS SMB shares and that is pretty much it. I dont want anything else going on in the background. I dont want KDE wallet, mail, etc. but having some integrated functions within dolphin like file extraction and easy admin access is nice. Would LXQT be a suitable alternative or is KDE doing some things in the background I need I just dont realize?

Thank you.

KDE Plasma: Shutdown & Restart Menu Buttons no longer work

I am fully updated on KDE Neon (6.6.4?). Not sure when it started but the restart and shutdown buttons from the start menu no longer work. When I use them, it acts like it is starting to shutdown but then stops and the mouse buttons are no longer functional. They keyboard is no longer functional. I can move the cursor around the screen but nothing works. I have to hard reset and cut power at the PSU.

reboot and shutdown commands from terminal work fine. Not sure if it is related but I’m also have sporadic issues with Dolphin where it will not open for something like 3-4 minutes and even when it does open it is not responsive. Terminating the Dolphin process and trying again produces same results when the issue is present. I have already disabled all previews. Rebooting temporarily fixes it.

I appreciate any help that this great community could provide.

I am remotely accessing my Ubuntu (KDE DE) machine from a win11 machine using Rustdesk (not self hosted). For some reason, when I'm accessing the Ubuntu machine with Rustdesk and I try to restart, the system starts to act like it is restarting (some apps from the system tray disappear) but then the system stops responding. I can still see the KDE desktop but the mouse wont work, the keyboard doesn't work, etc. Even going to the machine and using the local KB/mouse doesn't work. I have to remove power to get it to start back up. I have the security permissions on the ubuntu rustdesk app set to allow full control remotely. I tried searching but I just cant seem to find the right search terms as all I get are results about people trying to use rustdesk AFTER a reboot/restart.

I do not have these issues using anydesk or chrome remote desktop. Any suggestions on how to figure out the issue?
