For some reason no buttons are showing on shorts in revanced. Any tips on how to get them back?

I feel like diamonds have contributed to minecraft's popularity a lot, because before netherite they were the best sources for armor and weapons. Add to the fact that diamond, diamond items and diamond blocks look more aesthetically pleasing than iron, iron items and iron blocks, and you have the reason for many click bait minecraft thumbnails for years to come.

However real diamonds are brittle and won't function like they do in minecraft.

My question is, what if diamonds were still rare, but they weren't as useful as Iron? I mean, iron can be used to make armor and weapons and many other uses, but if diamonds were removed from the armor and weapon categories, and was purely decorative or some niche Redstone application, #would minecraft be as popular as it is today.

The diamond and diamond items is on almost all the promotional posters for the official game. Because it was so important to minecraft culture. If diamonds had reduced importance like andesite, would minecraft be as popular as it is today?
