Pate with no fish oil

I am really beside myself trying to find pate without fish oil for an allergic cat. I can only find 5 locally :
Friskies mixed grill, chicken with garden greens.
Fancy Feast Chopped Grill, Beef and Liver, and Beef and Chicken

Absolutely everything else I can find here has fish or fish oil. its everywhere and very frustrating.

Sure that's 5 and 5 is better than none but I wanted to find some more options for the furry fella.

So I am going to have to mail order some things. Anyone have any other fish and fish oil free pate recommendations ? If I give him chunks or minced, he licks the gravy and doesn't touch the meaty pieces.

Custom 74 - My first gold nib

Finally took the plunge and got my first gold nib pen. My favorite color is a nice dark or forest green so this was an easy choice.. Medium nib, as I like a thicker wetter line.

I've posted a couple of misaligned nib images recently, so I thought I would include a close up of a good one. I was nervous looking at it the first time but I was not disappointed ! The slit between is a tad wider than the image would have you believe, it's really difficult to avoid a stark reflection off the metal tip while still having enough light to see it.

(Try to ignore the cat hairs, we have several rescues and it's impossible to get rid of it all)

My OCD however is making it difficult to pick my ink. I really like Platinum Carbon Black which I use in a metropolitan. Other choices would be Take-Sumi, or De Atramentis Document Black. Would you recommend against the pigment inks in this pen or will it be ok with frequent use and a flush between refills ?

Bad nib right out of the box

Pretty sad that this is the nib on a brand new Pilot MR collection (Metropolitan) pen. I'm still within the return window so I could send it back, I am not good at fixing a mess like this.

Just wanted to share how bad they can be even when new. Bad luck.

Digital Microscopes Are Cool - Nib Alignment issue

Following up on a post from a few days ago, I was able to look at the nib from a troublesome pen with a digital microscope.

This is a medium nib from a Pilot Metropolitan. From the first time I inked it (Diamine Sherwood Green and then Pilot black cartridges), this pen has made me pull out what hair I have left. It constantly starts/stops. It has weak ink flow in general, and usually after just one day sitting idle it would take some effort to even get it started again. And a little scratchy. I also noticed the nib creep / ink leaking out of the slit was almost all to just one side.

Is this enough of an alignment issue to cause all those problems?

K10 HE Oooooh the spacebar ...

I just got a K10 HE with silent red switches and wow this keyboard feels great and it's nice and quiet just like I wanted.

Except the spacebar. It has my ire. I loathe it. It makes me weep. It is very loud when it tops out after release. I mean, it's annoyingly loud. Worse than an older Ducky I have retired, which was already pretty loud.

I have a K10 QMK with Frozen Silent V2s I use at work, and that spacebar is not any louder than the rest of the keys. This one.. ugh, its ridiculous in comparison.

I have never done a keyboard mod beyond swapping hot-swappable switches. Which doesn't really count.

I'll fill the bar with some foam but I doubt that helps much since the sound is on the top-out? I really don't have the confidence to go messing with stabilizers but i guess I will if I have to, otherwise I may give up on this one.

Any recommendation for something relatively easy for a noob to do to quiet this sucker down ? I love the feel of this board, but this is ruining the experience.

So i got a TP-Link Deco XE75 AXE540 mesh (2 nodes) and it works wonderfully for what I got it for.

Then fiber gets laid down my street. Then they offer 2Gb for essentially the 1Gb price. I know I can't actually use that pipe but sometimes we feel good doing things that are unnecessary.

But my router has only 1Gb ports.

So I can replace the mesh, obviously. That is the price point to beat. (Deco 7 Pro BE10000 the likely choice.)

Is there a router (no wifi needed) I can use to get the 2.5Gb ports, and also connect the existing mesh units to keep using them (as AP's?, I'm fuzzy on this part of things). And cost aside is there an advantage or disadvantage to this over simply replacing the mesh.
