I'm an OKC fan who just returned home from Paycom and Wemby is the most ridiculous being I've ever seen live (LeBron, KD, Steph included).
I have the luxury of watching many games at OKC's home and more often than not, I'd get to choose the games where a big star comes to town. So I've saw Miami LeBron, prime Steph and of course OKC KD play.
Let me tell you, those 3 guys are ultra impressive, don't get me wrong. They play like the superstars you expect them to when watching them on TV.
But watching Wemby is like other-worldly. Like LITERALLY. You know what, I don't even know if it's literally or not, I was just in a daze the entire time in the atmosphere and watching this fkin' species terrorize mankind. Like WTF IS THIS SHT. Seriously. WHAT THE FLYING FK IS THIS UFO LOOKING STICKMAN DOING TO MY TEAM?!
I've seen LeBron ran through my team, even then, he's at least human sized and he can't shoot that well (at least the games I've seen him live), just double him and stay an arm length apart. Sure. I've seen Steph run circles around my defenders panting and curl for a ridiculous 3, but hey, he's pretty small and you can sort of play rough against him and hope the refs don't call it. I've seen KD shoot jumpshots all the time, but hey, he's got an ego, you can get into his feelings abit and his shots are mostly jumpers so that's somewhat of a pattern.
But Wemby is just absolutely nuts. He just bulldozed through my team, and he clearly isn't darn human sized. He's reachin for balls he's got no business getting on his fingertips, he's got Steph Curry range, when you double him he sees the entire landscape anyway and scans calmly cause he knows you can't do sht when he held the ball above his head like that. He plays off ball, sneaks around the baseline to catch oops or get rebounds. You can't even push him cause he's amazingly strong for a stickman. You can't even trash talk him cause he's mean mugging you and dunking on your shts when he's angry, can't even deter his shots either cause he's a 7 foot 4 KD and is unpredictable cause he can get to the rim and do some air yoga move much better than KD.
Oh and not once have I mentioned his GOAT defense.
I still remember few weeks back there was a 1000+ upvoted post on this very sub saying 'Wemby shouldn't be in the vicinity of Luka for MVP'. At that point in time, I was just reading it to digest some of the reasoning. Now no damn reason is gonna make me believe any of that since I've saw it with my own damn eyes the fkin' IMPACT this guy has and we are a fkin' amazing team too. I truly believe that. In fact, anybody who says Luka is in the VICINITY of Wemby just sounds ridiculous to me right now.
LIKE FKIN' HELLLLL MATE!!
Any casual basketball clubs out there for someone in their 30s?
Hello!
I'm 34M, and had experience playing for school team in the past. We all love basketball and I do miss playing competitively or at least participate in structured practices every now and then.
Its all in the past now so I never really thought about getting back or what not, but as I get older and nearer to 40, I'm starting to wonder how long more am I able to still play and shoot hoops.
So asking here and see if there are any possible opportunities to play until one is too old to. I do still play friendly games once in awhile near my block tho.
We all want to keep AR, LeBron, Rui, Smart, Kennard, Hayes etc., while asking to add new players on top of that, but how does the cap space work?
I've seen threads post playoffs about wanting to keep them all (except Ayton, cause everybody hates Ayton even for 8 mil), but there are also complaints about how LeBron and AR need to take something much lower else its impossible. Also, adding new players on top of that.
So can any smart ones please explain how this would all work out?
If you commented during the regular season that DeAndre Ayton will play better than Austin Reaves in the playoffs, you'll be the biggest laughing stock in this sub.
Subs:
60' Hobinger for O'Sullivan, Csillag for Beata
75' Clark for Agrez, Bergstroem for Shimizu
88' Joesendal for Endemann
Alot of assumptions here I know. In summary, I think to properly contend for Top 4/CL, we need another top LW and LB.
Assumptions:
- Falk and Risa sign for us after their loans. Falk I'm confident will. Risa is more of a haymaker cause I do think she'll prefer returning to City since she just watched them clinch the title, has a JPN contingent there and already achieved her goal at Liverpool making the Asian Cup squad. Anyhow if that doesn't happen, we'll just start Bergstroem.
- Yes, I think Bernabe/Woodham is not good enough to be a CL caliber LB. Woodham is just okay. Bernabe is good on the attack, but defensively is atrocious. If we want to make CL, we need a new LB and make Bernabe the back-up. Niamh is just a placeholder for 'new LB'. She is definitely out of Chelsea, but we do not know where she would go (someone said Real Madrid, who knows).
- What does Gareth see Agrez as? I'll go out and say she's a CB, but he may play her more as LB next season since Agrez-Fisk-Clark is technically better than playing Bernabe.
- Fuka signed more than a year last off season. There are hints that she only signed for one year, so abit ambiguous here as well.
- Beerensteyn is placeholder for a 'new winger'. This isn't quite a priority as LB since we've got options, but I do think to properly contend for CL, we need 3 quality wingers for rotation (Beerensteyn/Endemann/Joesendal for example). If we do sign one more, then Enderby goes on loan so Kapocs/Joesendal are the back ups.
Playing great this playoffs without Luka and Pelinka got him for just 8 mil!
People here forget he's the 3rd option of the Finals team in Phoenix. Dude just SHOWS up in playoffs, why do Lakers fans say to not re-sign him as the best 8 mil player in the league who brings it when the lights shine brightest?
