Delays on single booking, not codeshare
Hey folks, who knows if I will get an answer in time but thought I’d try!
I’m flying on QF5 Per-Rom this evening. I have a connecting flight Rom-Athens. All booked through Qantas under the same booking. The last flight is on a different airline and it’s not a codeshare; I was told when I checked in for my first leg that I needed to check in with that airline at FCO.
QF5 is delayed 3 hours. It is scheduled to arrive in Rome an hour after my connecting flight departs. Current line via messages, email and app is “we’re monitoring your connection and will let you know if any changes are needed”. Staff in Perth have said the same.
My understanding is that, since it’s all under the same booking, this will be 100% on Qantas to resolve, but I’m feeling nervous about the prospect of landing in FCO and it suddenly being nobody’s problem since I’m technically not checked in.
Extra complication: my baggage has been checked through based on the original times and bookings and I now have no idea what to expect!
Has anyone had a similar experience - specifically about a connection on the same ticket but non-codeshare, extra points if in Rome? I’d just really appreciate knowing what to expect and how best to troubleshoot if needed.
