My partner and I are looking for some sorta local spots to explore together that aren’t the typical out and back overnight.
I know about Loyalsock, but that might be too big of a trail to tackle right away.
I’d love to hear your suggestions for other trails we should check out!

My partner and I are heading up that way for just over a week. We're starting with a few nights camping in Baxter. After that the only real plans we have are to spend some time hiking in Acadia (several days?) and spending some time in Portland.
I'm looking for ideas/suggestions on places in between those places for us to check out. We're looking to get in some camping as well as hotel/BnB options to switch things up. I can't stand all the AI suggestions I'm getting trying to research small towns and such, so I figured I'd ask the Mainers. Any awesome mountains by campgrounds? Any amazing small towns that we should absolutely get a room in and wander? How would you link these destinations together to spread the joy before heading down to Vermont for a day or two?
