I have inherited a nice piece of vintage furniture that is simply not my style. yes I understand that it’s heresy for some people to change anything, but I prefer to think of it as an tasteful adaptation.

Is it possible to simply remove the Ogee bracket and substitute in feet and if so is there a style of foot that would complement the Chippendale period? Maybe a Hayden bun foot?

The piece is solid maple and heavy so I haven’t been able to get underneath to take a look, but how would it be attached and does it make more sense to just cut it off?
