Nonsurgical questions
Nonsurgical people, did you go nwb for 6 weeks, or longer? were you in a cast? did you wear boot at night? Was it hard to get a surgeon to take you seriously if no operation involved? How was it post-boot/cast? Thanks!

Have had a couple of referrals, but not sure of their availablity, so wanting to hear who was good, who to avoid, for surgeons and for physios, too. Feel free to DM too, if that's better. Thanks!
My family member stopped their steroid eye drops yesterday after 4 weeks, and has had very mild issues since. It comes and goes, and yes, the surgeon has been notified so no need to suggest that they do that. I'm here asking what other people's experiences were.
Did anyone here have small symptoms after stopping steroid eyedrops, in the day or so after stopping them, and it resolved itself without having to go back on steroid. They were down to 1 dose, with no issues. They say there's some heaviness, bit of foreign body sensation, sticky feeling that comes and goes, and a brief sensation of heat that resolved quickly on its own. This could be dry eye of course.
Wondering specifically if anyone had a bit of a reaction after stopping, but it then went away without having to go back on the drops. Thanks.
My relative has some sticky lashes after almost 4 weeks of using various drops. They've been gently using gauze and sterile water on lids/lashes, which has helped some, but eyelashes are still a bit spiky with gunk--not as bad as before, but still..also looks like a bit of gauze is stuck on one eyelash, isn't really coming off.
What are people using this far out 3-4 weeks) from surgery to clean eyelashes? And when are people starting to use heated eye masks/warm compresses again after surgery ?
My grandfather has single use preservative free vials of post surgery prescription steroids. They contain many more drops than just one use, and he uses them for a max 12 hours, very careful to wash hands beforehand, not touch dropper to eyelid/lash, etc, and then dispose them. they are kept in the refrigerator. He accidentally used one just now from yesterday, so it had been open for 24 hours.
He didnt want to flush out his eye, as he's still less than a month post surgery. Unfortunately some (not all) symptoms of infection are similar to symptoms of his healing eye. Any ideas or thoughts about this? He's not sure it's a contact doctor issue at this time. Thanks.
