The White Ship

i’ve become really curious about the ships of Middle Earth recently, particularly The White Ship that takes Frodo, Gandalf, Shadowfax, Elrond, etc.

i’m especially interested in reading where The White Ship is described in Tolkien’s words. i’ve found lots of illustrations online of a few different ships, but not much text to support the different aesthetics of each of them.

this feels so niche so i apologize if there’s not much else to it and i’m just being greedy asking for more information!

graphic novel adaptation?

i’m aware there is an adaptation of the hobbit, but is there one for the trilogy?

my nephew is 10 and is facing some stuff in life where i really want to share the story of LOTR with him, but obviously his reading skills can’t comprehend the books lol. a google search only gave me results for the hobbit, but i figured if there’s a chance it even exists, somebody on here would know where to find it.

the “it’s too late” mentality

i’m an INFJ through and through. had the “big feeler/big dreamer” mentality growing up as a kid and have carried it well into adulthood. i’ve got my seasons where those values get the better of me and blurs into the realm of heartbreak/depression but i’ve always managed and get back on track. truthfully i’m more familiar with the enneagram world (4w5) so the cognitive functions are a newer concept for me to really grapple with.

but here’s my big question and really the entire reason for this post. i’m at a point in life where i’m really just so dissatisfied and looking around thinking “is this it?”. for whatever reason, it just feels like i see things happening for other people, but not for me. i’m a background character, they’re the main storyline. i’m on the sidelines, they’re getting all the recognition. i wouldn’t say i’m bitter, but it’s just this bizarre experience of observing life happen for others but not experiencing it firsthand.

i’m 33 which i know is not old by any means. but i just look around and see people in stable marriages or succeeding in dream jobs and everything is all smiles for them and i’m here just wondering did i miss something? my life doesn’t suck by any means, but i just feel like it’s too late for those things to fall into place for me. this all sounds so whiny and very dramatic tortured soul vibes but can someone tell me they relate too? it feels like an endless rut i keep falling into and never fully break free from.
