Video upload requirements

I have opened a support ticket requesting that the video requirements be updated to allow the upload of MOV videos.

This was my reason given

"Apparently, the video format requirement for video uploads is MP4. However, when testing on iOS, the native screen recording functionality produces videos in MOV format, and iOS does not provide built-in functionality to convert the recording to MP4.

Given that MOV files are already accepted by the upload function, I would suggest that the requirement be amended to allow MOV files as well as MP4.

This would avoid requiring testers using a supported iOS environment to use third-party software to convert their test evidence solely to meet the specified file-format requirement."

I would really appreciate support from the community by adding a support ticket of your own.

iOS vudeos

iOS Videos

I have been uploading .mov videos from iOS for years with no issues and quite frankly why wouldn't I since that's the format created by iOS native Videos.

Then all of a sudden my testcase goes into info requested and an .mp4 is required.

How are you converting MOV to MP4 without re-encoding? The cycle accepts MOV uploads technically, but the TTL is insisting on MP4. I don't want to use Telegram (their suggested solution) because test evidence shouldn't be uploaded to external services as per the code of conduct.

Your thoughts would be appreciated. Quite frankly I think this situation is ridiculous in the extreme!!

uTest VPN usage

Have the rules changed for use of the uTest VPN? I have been a tester on uTest for 11 years. Quite often test cases require the VPN to be connected for logins to work, so I have always had OpenVPN setup on all my testing devices ready for when it is required. Recently I had to rebuild my iPhone. When I tried to set up the VPN again I got an error and was unable to download the opvn profile. So I opened a support ticket. The ticket was closed with the following message:

"Close Notes:

Hi Barbara,

Please note that uTest VPN profiles are active and generated on-demand only when you are explicitly invited to and joined in an active test cycle that requires VPN access.

Aprat from any project requirement VPN usage is not allowed as it will result in breach in policy guidelines.

Best regards,

uTest Support Team"

Is this correct? It seems strange to me and I wonder what will happen the next time I need to connect to the VPN.
