Test model
I am not an experienced painter. This is my first attempt at a Marine outside of a paint and take event. I followed a video that suggested using a contrast paint as a base and doing layers over it but it really greyed out the model. Any suggestions on ways to make it better? I also have shaky hands so some of the detail work is going to suffer greatly

New player requesting assistance from potential chapter brothers
I’m going to be picking up the Armageddon box very soon and I am interested in building the Space Marines as Raven Guard!
My question is: What units do you find effective on the battlefield that are still thematic?
I’ve never played Space Marines but I’ve got 3k points worth of Tyranids and favor the Vanguard Onslaught detachment. I’m specifically looking for an army that plays a little cagey, shoots stuff and doesn’t just full send waves of melee at my opponents.
I’d like to flesh out the 700 ish points from the box with Shrike and Shaan obviously but those last 1100 points are where I’m curious what others field with their Guard.
