Praise for Spirit Guide
One thing that brings me back to Spirit Guide a lot is (aside from dope beats), the ideas and phrases he's saying are accessible... but they're also about very unique places, people, or the woo-woo world.
So instead of finishing a song saying "no clue what that was about", or "okay I understand it all", it's more like: I know roughly 50% about what that was about... but I have never heard people use these images / words in lyrics before.
Like "Nescafe washing down a snake on a stick."
It's easy to understand. But the imagery is awesome and incredibly localized to that place in the world... it's just not the types of things I've ever encountered. Such a fun album. Pizza Alley is 50% lyrics I have to look up, yet I get the overall vibe quickly. Holy Waterfall is my fav on that album.
